An example of a poem in the book;
This is a poem about when we are faced with a test, difficulty or hardship. We feel cornered, helpless and some of us feel despair. But what Allah wants for us is to submit and trust in Him totally and let go of control, handing it over to Him. When we submit and accept our Qadr and situation or circumstance, it is as if there is now a sweetness where there was once frustration and anger. Allah gives us these tests to make us grow and to bring us closer to Him, trust Him and surrender to Him. So there is great blessing and wisdom in trials and the blessed ones are those who realize this and don't become so absorbed with the problem that it leads them to despair and being drowned in sorrow.
When I Am Split
Warning bells are ringing
in this heart of mine.
Will I lose hope despairing with life,
or will I see the purpose of trials befalling?
I submit and surrender to my destiny,
For verily, a seed is split in the darkness
Under sheets of soil
So maybe so, will I begin to grow
Once placed in a darkness
Alone under sheets of burdensome fertility.
